Published Dec. 21, 2013 9:27 p.m. ET

Los Angeles Lakers center Pau Gasol will not play against the Golden State Warriors because of an upper respiratory infection.

Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said Chris Kaman would start in Gasol's place Saturday night. D'Antoni was hoping Gasol would be healthy enough to play Monday at Phoenix.

Gasol had 21 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists in the Lakers' 104-91 win against Minnesota on Friday night in Los Angeles. He is averaging 15 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists this season.

Gasol was the only player to start the first 26 games for the Lakers.
