Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao (VAR'-eh-zhoh) has had successful surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right ankle.

The team said in a statement that the procedure was performed Saturday by Dr. Robert Andrews in Charlotte, N.C. Varejao suffered the season-ending injury during practice on Jan. 6.

The Cavaliers say Varejao will spend the next three to four months resting and rehabilitating the injured ankle.

Varejao has said he expects to come back at 100 percent.
