Wild's Dumba accidentally 'scores' goal for Flames

Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba didn't raise his stick to celebrate "scoring" a goal on Wednesday. Instead, he just lowered his head in disgust.

Dumba - or more appropriately, his face - was on the receiving end of a deflected shot by Calgary Flames forward David Jones during the second period. While Dumba's face wasn't hurt too much, his emotions dipped a bit after he saw the puck sail into the net past a surprised Devan Dubnyk.

Minnesota interim head coach John Torchetti didn't get out of sorts by the unconventional goal that cut his team's lead to 3-2 during the second period. Via MinnesotaWild.com:

"From my end, it happens. Especially the second goal, it went off ... Dumba's head, and it looked like a game out there, one of those things with the rolling ball. But what are you going to do?"

Dumba kept his head up and the Wild regrouped, winning their second straight contest with a 5-3 triumph. Minnesota (25-22-10) has found success since firing Mike Yeo after an eight-game losing skid (0-6-2).

The Wild will look to complete a perfect three-game road trip on Thursday when they visit the Edmonton Oilers (22-30-6).
