Report: Raiders, Oakland to work on an O.Co Coliseum lease for 2016

In the name of a short-term fix, the city of Oakland and their iconic football team are working together.

The Oakland Raiders and city officials have discussed extending the team's lease at O.Co Coliseum, according to Bay Area News Group. The Raiders' old lease expired this year.

Executive director of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority Scott McKibben, via Bay Area News Group:

"The Raiders and ourselves have agreed to sit down and have discussions about a lease extension. We will talk to the press once we have something to talk about."

Then again, this announcement could buy crucial time. And in that span, city officials could re-work a favorable offer to keep the Raiders in Oakland once and for all.
