Chris Ivory accomplished something no Jets player has in 30 years
Chris Ivory continued his incredible 2015 campaign with another outstanding performance against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
Ivory rushed for 146 yards on just 20 carries, while he also found the end zone for the fourth time this season. With his 146 yards rushing, Ivory accomplished something no other Jet has since 1985. He's the first Jets player to rush for at least 140 yards in back-to-back games since Freeman McNeil did it in 1985, according to ESPN Stats and Info. In Week 4, Ivory rushed for a season-high 166 yards, giving him 312 over the past two games.
Against the Redskins on Sunday, Ivory also added 50 yards on three catches, giving him 196 yards from scrimmage in the win. He's arguably the most important player on the Jets' offense as he's averaged 115 yards and one touchdown per game in the four that he's played in.
In fact, the only loss for the Jets this season came when Ivory was injured and unable to play. That alone shows his value to the team as it's essential that the Jets keep him healthy for the long haul.
