Mad Ants' Travis Leslie moves up NBADL Prospect Watch list
Fort Wayne Mad Ants guard Travis Leslie sits in the 17th spot on the Week 5 NBA Development League Prospect Watch list.
Keep your eyes on Fort Wayne Mad Ants guard Travis Leslie as he has a spot on this week’s NBA Development League Prospect Watch List.
Travis debuted at 23rd on the Week 3 list and moved up to 22nd on the list for Week 4. In a 124-121 overtime loss to the Maine Red Claws on Dec. 8, Leslie came off the bench to score 22 points for the Mad Ants.
He had a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double in the Mad Ants’ 120-109 victory over the Delaware 87ers on Sunday.
He also sits at sixth place in the D-League in 3-point percentage with a .486 average.
Alex Poythress, Julyan Stone, and Trey McKinney-Jones also received votes for the Week 5 Prospect Watch list. Poythress got 12 votes, Stone received seven, and McKinney-Jones obtained two.
Additionally, McKinney-Jones received consideration for the NBA D-League Performer of the Week award. The award went to Keith Benson of the Sioux Fall Skyforce, who had double-doubles in each of the four games he played last week.
Both Poythress and McKinney-Jones led the way for the Mad Ants with 23 points apiece in their victory against the 87ers. Poythress also scored 23 points in the Mad Ants’ 113-106 win on Saturday against the Texas Legends.
Stone ranks third in assists in the D-League with 8.7 apg. Stone recorded his fifth double-double against the Red Claws with 11 points and 10 rebounds. He came close to having a triple-double with the nine assists he had in the game. His five double-doubles ties him for seventh place in the league with seven other players.
The Mad Ants put their 9-2 record on the line against the Long Island Nets at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Allen County Memorial War Coliseum. The Nets are 3-11 for the season and fifth in the D-League Atlantic Division. The Mad Ants lead the D-League Central Division, but the Raptors 905 are close behind with an 8-2 record.
