DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The emotional highlight of Kurt Busch’s dramatic Daytona 500 victory on Sunday didn’t come from the driver himself, but his Stewart-Haas Racing crew chief, Tony Gibson, a/k/a “Old Man,” who grew up five miles from Daytona International Speedway.

Gibson, a veteran racer who was part of the late Alan Kulwicki’s 1992 NASCAR Premier Series championship team, was understandably emotional after Busch led only the final lap to win his first Daytona 500 in 17 tries.

Check out Gibson’s reaction on this FOX interview. It really does personify the emotion that goes with winning on NASCAR’s biggest stage.
