Sprint Cup results for Happy Hour at Kansas Speedway
The Happy Hour final practice session has ended and the next time the Sprint Cup cars take the field will be for the start of the Hollywood Casino 400 at 2:31 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Matt Kenseth posted the fastest time in the final practice with a best lap of 186.361. Kyle Larson, Kurt Busch, Chase Elliott, and Kyle Busch rounded out the top 5 times in practice.
Busch had a tire go down coming off of Turn 4 and spun through the grass, burying his front splitter in mud and grass.
The Hollywood Casino 400 is the second of three races in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Round of 12. After next week’s race at Talladega Superspeedway, only the top eight drivers in points will advance to the semifinal round of the Chase.
A win in any of the three races of this round automatically advances the winner to the next round. The only driver locked in already is Jimmie Johnson, who won at Charlotte Motor Speedway last Sunday and was eighth fast in practice today at Kansas.
