Advance Auto Parts Clash under rain delay as showers move through Daytona

Published Feb. 18, 2017 9:46 p.m. ET

It’s official: tonight’s Advance Auto Parts Clash, the 75-lap exhibition race at Daytona International Speedway, is in rain delay.

The race, which kicks off the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup season, was scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET, with live television coverage on FS1.

But as of 9:20 p.m. it’s still in a rain delay.

Weather.com’s forecast calls for a 70 percent chance of rain at 9 p.m. ET, dropping to 25 percent at at 10 p.m.

The good news is that NASCAR has an entire fleet of its Air Titan track dryers and jet dryers on hand.

We will have full coverage of tonight’s race on FOXSports.com and will update this story as necessary.
