The Chicago White Sox knew they were getting the No. 1 overall prospect in baseball when they acquired second baseman Yoan Moncada from the Boston Red Sox in the deal for ace lefty Chris Sale. However, they had no idea that they were acquiring baseball’s top sweet tooth.

Moncada, who will begin this season at Triple-A Charlotte, is featured in the latest edition of ESPN The Magazine. And it was revealed there that the man eats up to 85 Twinkies a week.

That's roughly 9 billion calories, yet the guy still looks like this:

Here’s an incredible excerpt from that story (David refers to David Hastings, the husband of Josefa Hastings – a Cuban restaurant owner who befriended the Cuban-born Moncada):

Moncada discovered Twinkies at Wal-Mart and started consuming them by the box, sometimes eating more than 10 in a single sitting even as the Red Sox were trying to counsel him on diet and nutrition. When David took Moncada to the dentist in the winter of 2015 -- the first dental visit of Moncada's life -- he had about 15 cavities, David says.
