Tampa Bay Lightning And The Battle Of The 90’s Television Series

Teammates experience some intense battles over the course of the season, but one battle heating the Tampa Bay Lightning up right now is the battle for the remote.

Let’s face it, with the exception of a select number of shows on television right now, some of the best television we have ever experienced in our lives came in the 1990’s. There were series like Martin, Blossom, Full House, Dinosaurs, and many more.

Don’t even try to lie, you were jumping around like a little school girl when Fuller House, the follow-up to Full House hit Netflix earlier this year. And don’t forget one of our favorite phrases of all-time, “Not the Mama!”

Despite what kind of television series you are into, there was a little bit for everyone; however, when it comes down to it, there were only two series (non-animated) that came out of the 1990’s the forever-changed pop culture, Friends and Seinfeld.

Now, I’m sure you’re going to say, “What in the world does this have to do with hockey?” Well, nothing; however, it does have a little something to do with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

It seems as if there is a little battle among friends as to which show was the best show to come out of the 1990’s.

On one side of the ice you have Tampa Bay Lightning alternate captain Ryan Callahan and on the other side of the ice, you have Lightning center Alex Killorn.

It all started out when Ryan Callahan was trapped on the runway. Thankfully for Cally, Friends was on the television.

Another benefit for Callahan. Thee who holds the remote wields the power.

The battle started with a simple tweet…

Then, Cally decided to kick things up a notch.

Here’s where things get interesting.

We think we’re with SpideyBolt on this one.

As you can imagine, Callahan was astonished by the revelation from his teammate.

How could these two possibly remain friends? Then…this happened…

It seems like things are going to be hairy when the team starts traveling together during the upcoming 2016-17 season. It seems like Ryan Callahan and Alex Killorn are going to have to use their speed and agility to get their hands on the remote.

If you ask our opinion on the matter, we’re with Ryan Callahan on this one. There is no television series that came out of the 1990’s that shaped popular culture the way Friends did in the 1990’s. Would even know who Jennifer Aniston was if it wasn’t for Rachel Green?

The Tampa Bay Lightning have a lot of intense battles ahead of them in the 2016-17; especially if they want an opportunity once again fight for the Stanley Cup. From what we can see here, one of the biggest battles of the season will take place off the ice. Remember…thee who holds the remote wields the power.
