Marlins' Gordon, Stanton still pacing to earn starting nods in All-Star Game

The Miami Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton and Dee Gordon held onto their starting spots for next month's All-Star Game in the latest National League voting update.

Voting goes through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, and fans can vote up to 35 times. Starters will be revealed at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night. Reserves, pitchers and Final Vote candidates will be announced the following evening.

Stanton, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left wrist hamate fracture on Saturday, will not be able to participate in either the Home Run Derby or Midsummer Classic because of surgery performed on Sunday morning. Stanton (6,062,318) trails just the Washington Nationals' Bryce Harper (11,363,949) in outfield votes.

Despite missing the past two games, the two-time All-Star still paces the big leagues in home runs (27) and ranks second in RBI (67). Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado pushed past him for the RBI crown (68) over the weekend. Right knee surgery prevented him from attending the 2012 All-Star Game.

Gordon, who leads the majors in average (.353) and hits (112), has received 6,316,113 votes as the top NL second baseman. The St. Louis Cardinals' Kolten Wong (4,730,848) has fallen nearly two million votes behind. Gordon was a reserve for last season's team.
