We now have proof that Lionel Messi can score penalties blindfolded

In a partnership headed up by UNICEF, Barcelona stars Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Sergi Roberto took on the Spanish 5-a-side blind team ahead of the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio.

The Barcelona boys donned blindfolds and got acquainted with the game in a whole new perspective, including playing with a special type of ball that makes noise. After an adjustment period, it was time to take on the Paralympic team in shootout.

Defense and near misses reigned supreme on the first two attempts from both sides, but then it was time for Messi to stand up at the spot. The Barcelona ace put on his blindfold and tucked in a trademark left-footed shot that just inched over the goal line. It's unsurprising that he's able to shoot with such precision blindfolded, of course, but now we officially have confirmation.

Messi's skill was nice, but the Paralympian with the equalizing goal in the shootout takes home our award for standout player. A nutmeg penalty is tough to beat!
