Eagles WR is wearing custom Kanye cleats to support the 'Yeezy Foundation'
Across the NFL in Week 13, players are sporting custom cleats. Not just before kickoff during warmups as they typically do but during the games. It’s a part of the NFL’s “My Cause My Cleats” initiative, which allows players to wear personalized shoes to benefit the cause of their choice.
It’s a great campaign for the NFL, and players are clearly doing their best to spread awareness in their own unique way. Aaron Rodgers is supporting Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Richard Sherman is playing for the Blanket Coverage Foundation, and Von Miller is wearing cleats for Von’s Vision, which provides glasses and exams for kids.
Eagles wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, however, is going in a different direction. He’s wearing Adidas Yeezy 350 cleats, which were designed by Kanye West and banned by the NFL earlier in the year when DeAndre Hopkins and other players wore them. Why is he rocking those today? To support the “Yeezy Foundation.”
Perhaps Green-Beckham is supporting West, who was recently released from the hospital after a brief stint for his mental health. Still, it’s a bizarre way to draw attention on an otherwise fantastic day.
