Nerlens Noel is out of the Sixers' rotation for the foreseeable future

On Friday, Nerlens Noel played just eight minutes in a loss to the Lakers, and he wasn't at all happy about that.

"I think I'm too good to be playing eight minutes," Noel told reporters. "That's crazy. Need to figure this s--- out."

On Saturday, Noel met with Sixers head coach Brett Brown to get some clarification on his role moving forward, and seemed to come away from the discussion with a positive vibe.

"We had a conversation. He kept it more real with me, so I respect him a little more for that," Noel told reporters. "You see some things with more insight, and you handle it how you want to, and just handle it the right way."

On Sunday, Noel (via Keith Pompey of Philly.com) was effectively benched.

Nerlens Noel will not be in the 76ers rotation unless either Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor get in foul trouble for the foreseeable future.

Sixers coach Brett Brown said before Friday's game against the Brooklyn Nets that he's making move because he doesn’t think he can effective play three big men.  A fourth center – Richaun Holmes – will also take a hit.

Brown said the decision has nothing to do with Noel’s voicing his displeasure with only playing 8 minutes, 2 seconds  in Friday’s 100-89 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
