Manny Machado's football-style celebration knocks teammate to ground

Summer is winding down, which means football season is just around the corner and everyone is gearing up to cheer on their favorite teams.

And while Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado makes his living on the diamond, he sometimes celebrates like a guy on the gridiron. Take Sunday's 8-7 victory over the Giants, for example.

The O's were able to erase a six-run deficit by scoring a touchdown's worth of runs in the final three innings to pull off an improbable comeback.

With two outs in the ninth, trailing 7-5, Baltimore delivered the final blow when Jonathan Schoop smoked a two-out, three-run home run into the bleachers in left.

Machado, who was one of the runs driven in by Schoop, celebrated with his teammate as he crossed home plate and got a little carried away when he lowered his shoulder into Schoop, knocking him on the ground (see video above).

We're excited for football season too, Manny.

Thankfully for Machado, unlike the NFL, MLB does not issue fines for excessive celebration.
