Bryce Harper mashes longest home run of his career against Rockies

The drought is over.

After suffering a nearly month-long home run famine that began on July 20th, Bryce Harper finally broke his dry streak on Wednesday night against the Colorado Rockies by hitting a ball halfway to the damn International Space Station.

Yup: Harper didn't bust his slump so much as punt it into infinity, teeing off on Christian Bergman for a 481-foot two-run homer over the right field wall—a new career long for Harper.

Harper's dinger was the fourth-longest home run of the 2016 MLB season.

The only two batters who've hit balls farther are Rockies third baseman Mark Reynolds—who benefits from the thin air at Colorado's stadium—and Miami's Giancarlo Stanton, who benefits from being Giancarlo Stanton.

So Harper's in good company. And he clearly knows that shock and awe are the only way to properly demolish the yips.

Dan is on Twitter. Being Giancarlo Stanton is a huge edge in baseball.
