Woolbright leads Western Carolina past Middle Tennessee 66-64

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Vonterius Woolbright scored 21 points and sank two free throws with 3 seconds remaining to lead Western Carolina over Middle Tennessee 66-64 on Monday night.

Woolbright added 12 rebounds and five assists for the Catamounts (3-0). DJ Campbell scored 14 points and added eight rebounds. Corneilous Williams shot 4 of 5 from the field to finish with 10 points, while adding eight rebounds.

The Blue Raiders (2-1) were led by Elias King, who posted 14 points. Jestin Porter added 13 points and nine rebounds for Middle Tennessee. Jacob Johnson also had nine points and six rebounds.

Both teams play on Saturday. Western Carolina hosts McNeese and Middle Tennessee hosts Milligan.
