Report: Chiefs attempted to claim ex-Pats TE Tim Wright

The Buccaneers scooped up their old tight end, Tim Wright, off waivers from the Patriots late last week.

That didn't stop the Chiefs from trying to add to their tight end collection, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

As Yates mentions, the Bucs edged out all aforementioned teams by owning the top waiver priority. It's clear now, though, that general manager John Dorsey isn't comfortable with the Chiefs' current depth chart at tight end.

Demetrius Harris is out with a broken foot, leaving fifth-round rookie James O'Shaughnessy as their current TE2. Dorsey was right in trying to add to that group -- and it shouldn't shock anyone if he tries to do it again.
