Report: No trade involving Jose Calderon in imminent
The Knicks have been rumored to have interest in both Jamal Crawford and Ricky Rubio over the past few days, and that means a point guard could be out the door if the team were able to capitalize. Considering the salaries of Rubio and Crawford, many have figured that the odd man out could be Jose Calderon.
Calderon elicited even more suspicion that way when he fired off this tweet Wednesday:
But ESPN's Ian Begley says Calderon should be on the Knicks for at least a little while longer:
FWIW: On that Jose Calderon tweet, league sources said earlier this morning that no trade involving the #Knicks point guard was imminent.

Of course, no trade being imminent doesn't mean no trade is going to happen. Heck, it doesn't even relieve the possibility of the Knicks discussing trades that involve their 2014-15 starting point guard.
It just means there isn't a trade that inevitable, one that is surely going to come. That's a pretty specific word choice by Begley. He and Calderon could certainly both be right, especially since the reported interest in both Crawford and Rubio were just "interest." Nothing more. No reports of trade discussions or anything else.
Calderon could go. He could stay. It'll probably be one of the two.
