Ramon Sessions providing welcome help off the bench for Wizards

Trading The Professor Andre Miller to the Sacramento Kings for Ramon Sessions was a risky move by the Washington Wizards this season. Miller's playing time had dwindled in Washington, and his contributions were next to nil. But the savvy veteran had quickly become a fan favorite in less than a full season of games played with the Wizards.

It's safe to say the trade has paid dividends for Washington. Sessions has filled in admirably off the bench when John Wall has needed a break during the season, averaging 7.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists in less than 20 minutes per game, and he came up big in the second quarter of the Wizards' Game 4 win over the Raptors. Teammate Bradley Beal explained just how important Sessions is to a prolonged playoff run for Washington, via the Washington Times:

“Sesh has been tremendous, I think, on both ends of the floor because he accepts that defensive challenge on any guard,” Beal said. “On top of that, he’s learned the offense quick. He’s able to push the ball, get to the basket. He’s definitely grown a lot. We’re glad to have him on board. He’s been nothing but good for us.”
