Angry Torts benches Rangers’ Redden, Kotalik

New York Rangers coach John Tortorella is making good on his vow

to shake up his struggling lineup.

One night after a lifeless 2-1 loss at home to the New York

Islanders, Tortorella benched veteran defenseman Wade Redden and

forward Ales Kotalik, and dropped captain Chris Drury to the fourth

line for the rematch Thursday night on Long Island.

The Rangers fell behind 1-0 on Wednesday in the first period and

were outshot 10-3 in the frame. They didn’t get a puck past

Islanders goalie Dwayne Roloson until the final minute of the
