Shayne Gostisbehere - Registers two power-play helpersGostisbehere supplied a pair of power-play assists in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Panthers.
ImpactGostisbehere needed a game like this after being held without a point in his previous three contests, and the Red Wings are really hoping for a strong finish from the puck-moving defenseman since the team currently is two points away from the Flyers for the second wild-card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Ghost has 10 goals and 39 assists to complement 27 power-play points and 67 blocked shots through 73 games. His minus-17 rating is a bit of an eyesore, but then again, he's best known for the offense he provides and there's been plenty of that in 2023-24.

Dylan Larkin - Dogged effort SaturdayLarkin battled through a knee injury but was able to finish Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Panthers, adding a power-play goal in the process.
ImpactJust 28 seconds into the contest, Larkin had to be helped off the ice after teammate Jeff Petry's blast from the blue line hit him on the knee and left the captain withering in pain. However, he toughed it out and tied the game with four minutes to play in regulation. Larkin needs just one more goal and another helper for a 30-30 season, but those numbers won't mean all that much to him as long as his team is outside of the playoff picture. As of Sunday morning, the Wings are two points behind the Flyers for the second wild-card spot out from the Eastern Conference.
MARCH 31ROTOWIRE
Aleksander Barkov - Lights lamp twice in winBarkov scored two goals in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Red Wings.
ImpactBoth goals came in the third period, erasing an early 1-0 deficit and setting the stage for Sam Reinhart to play hero with the only successful shootout attempt. Barkov is up to 21 goals on the season, his ninth straight 20-goal campaign, and Saturday's production also got the 28-year-old to 70 points for the fifth time.
MARCH 31ROTOWIRE
Sergei Bobrovsky - Hangs on for shootout winBobrovsky turned aside 20 shots in regulation and overtime and all three shootout attempts he faced in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Red Wings.
ImpactBoth pucks that beat Bobrovsky came on Detroit power plays as the veteran netminder snapped an 0-4-1 slump with his 33rd win of the season. Bob's hot streak coming out of the All-Star break has faded, but through 10 starts in March he still posted a solid 2.59 GAA and .904 save percentage. With the Panthers having already clinched a playoff spot but unlikely to catch the Rangers for the top seed in the Eastern Conference, Bobrovsky could get rested a bit more often down the stretch to try and recharge his batteries ahead of the postseason.
MARCH 31ROTOWIRE
Alex Lyon - Falls to Florida in shootoutLyon stopped 36 shots in regulation and overtime and two of three shootout attempts in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Panthers.
ImpactThe 31-year-old netminder was beaten twice by Aleksander Barkov in the third period and once by Sam Reinhart in the shootout, but that was enough to hand Detroit a tough loss. Lyon went the entire month of March without picking up a win, going 0-8-2 over his last 10 outings with a 4.04 GAA and .881 save percentage, and his late-season swoon may end up costing the Red Wings a playoff berth -- they sit two points back of the Flyers for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
