Josh Norris - Pots seventh goal in Tuesday's lossNorris scored his seventh goal of the season in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
ImpactAn aggressive forecheck by the Senators created some scoring chances midway through the first period and Norris was able to tip home an Erik Brannstrom point shot, but it was all the offense the team could muster. Norris has found the back of the net in two of the last three games, but since the beginning of November he's managed just four goals and eight points in 15 contests.

Joonas Korpisalo - Sunk by HurricanesKorpisalo made 24 saves in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Carolina.
ImpactThe Senators grabbed an early 1-0 lead but the game was all 'Canes after that, with two power-play goals getting things going for the Carolina offense. Korpisalo has lost three of his last four starts, allowing at least four goals in each defeat, and on the season he carries a 3.28 GAA and .900 save percentage to go along with a 6-7-0 record. With Anton Forsberg not playing any better, however, Ottawa coach D.J. Smith will likely continue trying to ride the hot hand rather than stick to a strict timeshare between the two goalies.

Brady Skjei - Two helpers in OttawaSkjei picked up two assists, one on the power play, in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Senators.
ImpactHe also added four shots on net, two PIM, a blocked shot and a plus-1 rating to his ledger. Skjei has had a couple hot streaks already this season and it looks like he's beginning another one with three points in the last two contests. On the season, the veteran blueliner has collected five goals and 18 points in 28 games, putting him well on pace to reach the 40-point plateau, if not higher, for the first time in his career.

Sebastian Aho - Three-point night against SensAho scored two goals, one of them the game-winner on the power play, and added an even-strength assist in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Senators.
ImpactAll three points came in the second period as Carolina blew open a 1-1 contest. Aho snapped a four-game point drought with the performance, but the multi-point effort was his sixth in the last 16 contests, a stretch in which he's racked up eight goals and 17 points.

Pyotr Kochetkov - Back in win columnKochetkov turned aside 31 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Senators.
ImpactJosh Norris opened the scoring in the game midway through the first period, but Kochetkov slammed the door shut the rest of the way. The win ended a brief two-start losing streak for the 24-year-old netminder, and since he rejoined the Hurricanes' roster in mid-November, Kochetkov has gone 5-3-1 over 10 appearances with a 2.53 GAA and .898 save percentage.

Jacob Larsson - Up from AHLLarsson was recalled by Ottawa on Wednesday.
ImpactLarsson has two goals, four points and 14 PIM in 18 appearances with AHL Belleville in 2023-24. The 26-year-old hasn't drawn into the lineup with Ottawa this campaign, but with the Senators set to play their next five games on the road, beginning with a contest in St. Louis on Thursday, perhaps Larsson will see action at some point during the trip.
