Arnaud Durandeau - Moved in minor-league tradeNew Jersey acquired Durandeau from the Islanders on Sunday in exchange for Tyce Thompson.

ImpactDurandeau, who will report to AHL Utica, has notched one goal and three assists in 12 minor-league contests with Bridgeport this season. In four NHL contests with the Islanders during the 2022-23 campaign, he was credited with nine shots on goal, two blocked shots and three hits.

Devon Levi - Allows three in reliefLevi made 17 saves in two periods of relief Saturday in a 7-2 loss to the Devils.

ImpactLevi entered the game at the start of the second period after starter Eric Comrie had allowed four in frame one. Comrie took the loss, but neither man had help from their teammates. Levi stood on his head at times, including a 10-bell save on John Marino from in tight to keep the score 5-1 in the second. Levi is 3-4-1 in eight starts, with a 3.73 GAA and .876 save percentage. He could use some development in the AHL, but the Sabres may not send him down unless they are miles out of contention.

Eric Comrie - Yanked after one frameComrie made 14 saves on 18 shots and was replaced by Devon Levi to start the second period of Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Devils.

ImpactThe loss was self-inflicted, not by Comrie or Levi, but by the queasy effort of the Sabres overall. They got just 12 shots on the net at the end of the ice over three periods, and their miserable first period had them down 4-0. Comrie gets limited ice time and starts because of the three-headed monster in the Buffalo net. There's some thought that Comrie may be the odd man out, leaving Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Levi as the lone wolves in the NHL net. Don't jump on that yet -- official news about netminding will be slow to come and may involve sending Levi down for the betterment of his development.

Tyler Toffoli - Top-15 goal guy in NHLToffoli scored twice in a 7-2 win over the Islanders on Saturday.

ImpactHis first was a backhander from just off the left post in the first period, and the second was a rebound off the left pad of Devon Levi early in the second. Toffoli is in the final year of his four-year, $17 million contract (AAV $4.25 million), and he's doing everything possible to earn another big money deal. He has 18 points, including 11 goals, in 19 games after putting up a career-high 73 points last season. Those 11 snipes put him in a seven-way tie for 14th in the NHL in goals.

Nico Hischier - Back from injury with bangHischier (upper body) had a goal and an assist Saturday in a 7-2 win over the Sabres.

ImpactHischier had missed 11 games with an upper-body injury, and he returned with a bang even if the goal was a bit of a gift. He was skating down the slot when the puck deflected in off his leg. It stood as the winner. Hischier is among the NHL's best two-way centers. He may have missed too much time to be a post Patrice Bergeron Selke nominee, but he'll give the Devils a boost as they try to climb back into a Wild Card spot. They are only four points out with plenty of time left.
