Ducks reassign Shea Theodore to AHL's SD Gulls

As Ducks defensemen Simon Despres and Cam Fowler regained full fitness prior to the All-Star Break, the Duck's blueline looked mighty crowded as of late. To make room, Anaheim has reassigned rookie Shea Theodore to the Ducks' AHL affiliate San Diego Gulls.

Theodore, 20, was called up to the big club following news of Fowler's knee injury in late December. Since joining the Ducks, Theodore played in 13 games collecting six points and scoring two goals including one in the team's last game against the Boston Bruins.

Theodore rejoins San Diego as their second-ranked defenseman in points, assists, goals and power-play goals.

The Gulls are currently on a short break for the AHL All-Star Challenge. Forward Nik Ritchie and defenseman Brandon Montour will represent the Gulls in the game taking place Feb. 1, on FOX Sports West (coverage begins at 4p).
