Aqib Talib believes the Broncos' offense is '10 times better' than last year

The Broncos may have won the Super Bowl last year but Denver cornerback Aqib Talib believes they're poised to vastly improve this season, at least on one side of the ball.

Talib spoke to Nate Kreckman and Tom Nalen of Altitude Sports 950 AM in Denver this week, and he made a bold assessment of the team's offense through the first two weeks of the season.

“Honestly, from the sideline, in my opinion our offense looks 10 times better this year,” Talib said. “Them guys are playing good football in my eyes. They’re turning the ball over a little in the red zone. Clean that up and they’ll be 10 times better. They can only go up. But I see a bunch of improvement on the offensive side of the ball.”

That's high praise put on the entire offensive unit, but especially for quarterback Trevor Siemian, the first-year starter who took over under center following the departure of Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler this offseason. Siemian, who was drafted in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft, has led the Broncos to a 2-0 record to start the season. The team is currently tied for 9th in the league in points-per-game (27.5) and ranks 16th in yards-per-game (353.5).

Last year's Broncos team didn't have a particularly stellar offense -- Peyton Manning was just a shell of the quarterback we once knew -- but that just goes to show how impressive their defense was on the road to a Super Bowl victory. Considering that a majority of that defense has carried over into this year, if Denver manages to field an offense anywhere near 10 times as good, the rest of the league will be in serious trouble.
