PHOTO: Oregon's new 'Pioneers' uniform pays tribute to Lewis and Clark
Nike is known for producing some incredibly unique uniforms for Oregon. However, its latest creation may top the list in terms of ingenuity and creativity.
The Ducks will wear Nike's newest creation, the "Pioneers" uniform, on Oct. 10 in Eugene as the team hosts Washington State. The uniforms pay tribute to Lewis and Clark and the Oregon Trail.

“We have many discussions with the Oregon athletes, equipment staff and coaches,” Creative Director for Nike Football Todd Van Horne said, according to GoDucks.com. “For this inspiring new uniform, we want to celebrate the state and its great founders and innovators.”
The guys at Nike found a way to include "a sublimated, tonal pattern of the Oregon Trail" in the design of the jersey. You read that right. A map of the Oregon Trail will be on Saturday's uniforms.
The uniform's gray base "is inspired by the achromatic look of a vintage map, accented with black numbering and the Ducks’ trademark tonal shoulder wings."
Finally, the helmets will pop off the screen with "a silhouette of Lewis and Clark, along with The Duck." The decal features Lewis looking through a telescope and Oregon's mascot pointing west, because no detail is too small for these uniforms.
