Not so fast: Ridley pulls back on pledge to South Carolina

In the game of recruiting, it's never over until that prospect's name is signed on the dotted line.

South Carolina and Will Muschamp's staff found this out on Monday -- going from a sense of jubilation to disappointment when it comes to recruit Cavin Ridley.

The receiver out of Florida committed to South Carolina over Alabama at the Under Armour All-America Game this past Saturday. It was a bit of a surprise, considering Ridley's brother Calvin is a current star in Tuscaloosa.

Making the pledge Friday, Ridley was to then head to Columbia on Tuesday as an early enrollee. However, the speedy receiver took to Twitter to describe some hesitation on his college choice. He will not be in South Carolina this week -- with the possibility he ultimately waits to enroll instead in the summer.

It's not ideal for the Gamecocks brass, especially when the Muschamp is ardently searching for another top receiver to pair with fellow incoming freshmen Brandon McIlwain and Bryan Edwards.
