The 2017 Confederations Cup will be Russia's tune-up for the 2018 World Cup. They'll get to host teams in some of their new, or at least newly rebuilt, stadiums and put on a tournament that will test their readiness for the summer of 2018.

The tournament also happens to feature some of the best teams in the world playing for a FIFA championship. The champions of FIFA's six confederations all make the tournament, as well as defending World Cup champions Germany and hosts Russia.

Germany are the favorites, while Portugal will also have a chance after this year's Euro title. Chile have won Copa America in each of the last two years, while Mexico have shown flashes of excellence since Juan Carlos Osorio took over last fall. Australia and New Zealand are outsiders, while Africa's representative won't be determined until the Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off in January.

Before we can get to the playing of the tournament, there is the draw. We have to find out which teams will be in the two four-team groups and what the path to the semifinals and then final will look like.

The draw is set for Saturday in Kazan, Russia. It gets underway at 10 a.m. ET and will be televised on FS1, as well as streamed on FOX Sports Go.
