Two Ohio Mr. Basketball winners and a current Cavalier will represent the Buckeye State in the NBA’s Rising Stars Challenge during all-star weekend in New Orleans.

Teams have not been selected yet, but Cavaliers guard Dion Waiters, Celtics forward Jared Sullinger and Jazz point guard Trey Burke are all part of the 18-player pool that will fill them.

Waiters is in his second season with the Cavaliers while Sullinger and Burke were high school teammates at Columbus Northland.

The Associated Press named Sullinger Ohio’s Mr. Basketball in 2009 and ’10 then gave the honor to Burke in 2011.

Both later became All-Americans and key players on Final Four teams as sophomores in college — Sullinger at Ohio State in 2012 and Burke at Michigan in 2013. Sullinger also earned All-America honors as a freshman for the Buckeyes, and Burke was named National Player of the Year as a sophomore.

The game will be played Feb. 14 with teams to be drafted Feb. 6.
