The Reds on Wednesday agreed to a six-year, $105 million deal with starter Homer Bailey.

Bailey had said Monday, "We’re going in the right direction. The majority of it is worked out."

The contract will allow the two parties to avoid arbitration, and there is also a $25 million mutual option for 2020.

Bailey, 27, went 11-12 with a 3.49 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 2013. He has topped 200 innings pitched in each of the past two seasons.
