Buxton among invites to Twins spring training

Injuries limited Byron Buxton in 2014, but the Twins' top prospect will start fresh in major-league camp in 2015.

MINNEAPOLIS — Byron Buxton highlights highlights a list of Twins minor leaguers who have been invited to major-league spring training.

Minnesota announced Friday that 18 minor league players will join the Twins in big league camp. In addition to Buxton are fellow outfielders Eric Farris, Danny Ortiz and Shane Robinson.

The list of pitchers includes right-hander Mark Hamburger, who recently pitched for the independent St. Paul Saints. Other pitchers include Jose Berrios, Tyler Duffey, Adrian Salcedo, Ryan O’Rourke and Taylor Rogers.

Infielders include James Beresford, Doug Bernier, Argenis Diaz and Heiker Meneses. Minor league catchers Mitch Garver, Tyler Grimes, Dan Rohlfing and Stuart Turner.

Including the players on the 40-man roster, the Twins have 58 players invited to big-league camp. Pitchers and catchers report to Fort Myers, Fla., on Feb. 22. Position players must report by Feb. 27.
