Titans offensive lineman Byron Bell dislocates left ankle

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee coach Mike Mularkey says offensive lineman Byron Bell will miss the season after dislocating his left ankle on the Titans' first day of organized team activities.

Mularkey said he did not know the full extent of Bell's injury, but the veteran's left ankle was placed into an air cast before he being carted off the field Tuesday.

Mularkey says it's an unfortunate injury with Bell having worked hard this offseason and competing for a starting job. Bell signed a one-year deal with the Titans this offseason after four seasons with Carolina.

The Titans drafted Jack Conklin out of Michigan State with the eighth overall draft pick, but Bell started 16 games last season with the first seven at left guard, eight at right tackle and the finale at left tackle.
