Titans QB Jake Locker has MRI on injured right wrist

Published Sep. 23, 2014 4:03 a.m. ET

Titans quarterback Jake Locker hurt his wrist in Tennessee's loss to Cincinnati, and coach Ken Whisenhunt says Locker was sore enough at the end of the game the quarterback could barely grip the ball.

Whisenhunt says Locker had an MRI on his right wrist Monday morning, and whether Locker will be able to play Sunday at Indianapolis only will be known later this week.

The coach says Locker got his wrist caught up underneath him in the 33-7 loss at Cincinnati. Backup Charlie Whitehurst warmed up early in the game, and Whisenhunt says that might have been after Locker was hurt.

Locker missed nine games last season because of injuries, and he's in the final season of his contract.

Tight end Delanie Walker also hurt a shoulder.
