A 25-year-old man was shot at a Super Bowl party just north of Orlando on Sunday afternoon and later died at the hospital, authorities said.

According to police, the shooting occurred about 3 p.m. local time in Longwood, Fla., as several people gathered at a home to watch the NFL title game, myFOXorlando.com reported.

When police officers arrived at the apartment, they found a man injured with a gunshot wound. He was taken to South Seminole Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Longwood police chief Troy Hickson said.

The victim later was identified as the host of the party, Donnie Shepard.

Cops told WOFL that several men were arguing at Shepard's home during the game when one pulled a gun and shot the victim. Three men fled on foot after the shooting.

Police launched an air and ground search to find the three men, but they remain at large, WOFL reported.

It is not known what the argument was about or whether the victim knew the shooter.
