METAIRIE, La. (AP) The New Orleans Saints have brought back receiver Joseph Morgan on a one-year contract.

Morgan, whose contract was announced by general manager Mickey Loomis on Friday, returns after being released by the club last December.

Morgan joined the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Walsh University in 2011, but missed all of his rookie season and the 2013 season with injuries.

Last season, Morgan played in five games, starting two. He caught four passes for 92 yards and had a 67-yard run. However, coach Sean Payton suspended Morgan two games in midseason for undisclosed reasons and later cut Morgan after a lopsided loss to Carolina on Dec. 7.

In 19 career games, Morgan has averaged 33.6 yards per catch, making 14 receptions for 471 yards and three touchdowns.
