The New Orleans Saints kept their backup quarterback in the fold for another season Thursday by re-signing Luke McCown.

A source told FOX Sports that the one-year deal carries a $970,000 salary with an $80,000 signing bonus. About one-third of the deal ($350,000) is fully guaranteed.

McCown, 33, will be entering his 11th NFL season and second with the Saints. He has attempted only one pass with the Saints while playing behind starter Drew Brees.

McCown was previously with Atlanta (2012), Jacksonville (2009-11), Tampa Bay (2005-08) and Cleveland (2004) and has nine career starts. He is the brother of Tampa Bay’s 2014 starting quarterback, Josh McCown.
