Patriots wrap up draft signings with third-round QB Jacoby Brissett

The New England Patriots have signed rookie QB Jacoby Brissett to a four-year deal, wrapping up deals for each of their nine picks from April's draft, according to the Boston Globe's Ben Volin.

Brissett was taken in the third round out of NC State, where he finished his career after transferring from Florida.

He's expected to be the third QB on New England's depth chart, but could wind up backing up Jimmy Garooppolo if Tom Brady misses time for a suspension in the DeflateGate scandal.

Brissett sat out the 2013 season after transferring to NC State, but threw for 5,268 yards and 43 touchdowns during his two years with the Wolfpack.

Brissett's deal may have taken a little longer to get done because he was reportedly the only player drafted to decline to hire an agent.
