Larry Fitzgerald says he's returning for 2017, putting an end to retirement whispers

The Arizona Cardinals won’t have to fill Larry Fitzgerald’s immense shoes – at least not for 2017. The Pro Bowl wideout told ESPN on Wednesday that he is returning for his 14th season.

Fitzgerald is entering the final year of his contract, but the 33-year-old looks just as effective as ever. He led the NFL in catches in 2016, hauling in 107 a season after he accounted for 109.

Now that Fitzgerald, who leads all active receivers in career receptions with 1,125, is all in for next season, the Cardinals hope quarterback Carson Palmer follows suit. The 37-year-old QB said in December that he expects to be back for 2017.
