Packers RB James Starks in concussion protocol after Monday car accident

The blows keep coming at running back for the Green Bay Packers. They’ve dealt with several injuries and a revolving door at the position, from Eddie Lacy getting injured to James Starks struggling to carry the ball with any sort of success. And it’s not going to get any better for Green Bay.

On Thursday, head coach Mike McCarthy announced that Starks is in the league’s concussion protocol after he was involved in a car accident on Monday. McCarthy said Starks is OK, though.

Considering how seriously the NFL takes concussions and head injuries, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Starks miss Sunday’s game against the Bears. If that’s the case, Christine Michael and Ty Montgomery would carry the load and fill in for Starks.

That was mostly the case last week against the Seahawks anyway, with Starks playing just seven snaps in the game.
