Bills 'very concerned' about rookie Reggie Ragland's non-contact knee injury

The Buffalo Bills are already without one of their top rookies for the near future, and they may have just lost another.

Second-round linebacker Reggie Ragland went down with a knee injury during Friday’s practice. What makes it particularly noteworthy is that it was of the non-contact variety. How severe it is isn’t exactly clear as of now, but Rex Ryan is “very concerned” about it.

Fortunately, the Bills believe he avoided ligament damage, which is a huge sigh of relief.

Ryan said the injury “looked odd” because he wasn’t hit on the play, and acknowledged that “sometimes those can be the worst ones.”

This injury comes in addition to first-round pick Shaq Lawson’s shoulder surgery, which he reportedly underwent a few months ago. Losing Ragland, who’s expected to start at inside linebacker, would be a massive blow to a linebacking group that’s thin as it is.
