Agent: Dolphins DE Taylor visiting Jets
If the Miami Dolphins don't want Jason Taylor back, the rival Jets appear to be happy to take him.
The agent for the free-agent defensive end told a South Florida radio show the longtime Dolphins great will meet with the Jets today, according to the Sun Sentinel.
"(Jets coach) Rex Ryan called me and said, 'Hey, we're looking for one guy and it's Jason Taylor.'," said Taylor's agent, Gary Wichard.
Wichard added "Rex, to be honest, bugged me last year about Jason as soon as he got the job in New York. This has been a guy he's always coveted. . . . I said something to Jason (about that conversation) and he laughed at me and hung up and that was the end of that."
Wichard says Taylor wants to play for two more years, but hasn't received anything solid from the Dolphins yet.
Taylor originally signed with Miami after being selected in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft and has spent all but one season with the Dolphins.
He played one season for the Redskins in 2008, before returning to Miami in 2009.
