Hall of Fame removes Hernandez pic
Let’s say you are walking through the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, and smack dab in the celebration of all that is great about the NFL, there’s a photo of a player who is sitting in jail charged with murder.
Kind of ruins the mood, doesn’t it?
To that end, the Hall of Fame has removed a photo of former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. The picture, showing Hernandez joyously scoring a touchdown in a 2010 game, had been a winning entry in the hall’s annual photo contest.
Understandably, some visitors to the hall complained.
“In the spirit of good taste, we thought we’d take it down,” Joe Horrigan, the hall’s vice president of communication and exhibits, told the Plain Dealer.
While plenty are reacting with similar disdain in the aftermath of the Hernandez situation, a pair of NFL players has created hats to support him.
