Kurt Busch to get married during the off-season
Tony Stewart joked Thursday that he might have a tough time making it to Kurt Busch’s wedding, since Busch will be getting married during the weekend of next year’s Chili Bowl midget nationals, with the final night of racing taking place Jan. 14, 2017.
The Chili Bowl is a standard stop on Stewart’s calendar every year.
Busch confirmed to FOXSports.com that he and fiancée Ashley Van Metre will be wed in the Caribbean next January. The couple is planning an intimate wedding of about 30 guests, followed by a party for about 300 in Florida.
“She’s the one,” Busch said of his bride-to-be.
During Chase Media Day in Chicago on Thursday, Stewart ribbed Busch saying he might not be able to attend the wedding because of the Chili Bowl conflict.
“Hey, by the way, they’re talking about your quote unquote poor planning on your wedding date,” Stewart called to his teammate Busch when Busch walked by Stewart’s media availability. “I’m going to get a cutout standup and I’ll be there as a thin guy.”
