Guaranteed Rate Field, Chicago, IL
Pedro Leon - Promoted to Triple-ALeon was promoted to Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ImpactLeon missed several days earlier in July due to a sprained finger, but he's slashed .251/.354/.448 with nine home runs, 33 RBI, 28 runs and 13 stolen bases in 51 games at Double-A Corpus Christi to begin the year. The 23-year-old has a lackluster 31.1 percent strikeout rate, but it's encouraging to see him promoted to the top level of the minors.

Abraham Toro - Knocks lone hitToro went 1-for-3 in Sunday's 4-0 loss to the White Sox.
ImpactToro's third-inning single was the only hit the Astros mustered against three Chicago pitchers. He remains the primary fill-in at third base for the injured Alex Bregman (quadriceps), who was expected to begin a rehab assignment in mid-July but hasn't yet. The injured third baseman could join Triple-A Sugar Land during a road trip that begins Thursday. That means Toro should be good for multiple starts this week.

Josh James - Struck by line driveJames (hamstring) was struck in the upper back by a line drive during the sixth inning of a rehab appearance at Triple-A Sugar Land on July 16.
ImpactJames stayed in the game to finish off the sixth inning, but he was pulled before the seventh inning after just nine pitches. Houston manager Dusty Baker, who said throwing only nine pitches was not the plan for James, did not have an update on whether he'll be set back after getting hit.

Pedro Báez - Scheduled for bullpen in HoustonBaez (shoulder) will head to Houston on Tuesday to throw a bullpen session in front of major-league staff, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ImpactBaez is currently on a rehab assignment at High-A Fayetteville, for whom he made a second appearance Sunday, walking one and striking out one over a scoreless inning. Presuming all goes well Tuesday, the Astros are expected to move his rehab to Triple-A Sugar Land. He has not pitched for Houston this season after contracting COVID-19 during spring training and injuring his shoulder while building back up.

Aledmys Díaz - Rehab shifting to Double-ADiaz (hand) will move his rehab to Double-A Corpus Christi and spend most of this week with the Hooks, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ImpactThe Hooks kick off a six-game road trip to Midland on Tuesday. Diaz spent two games with Houston's Gulf Coast League affiliate, going 2-for-5 with a double, a walk and two RBI.

Alex Bregman - Still waiting on rehabBregman remains in Houston rehabilitating his strained left quadriceps, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ImpactEarlier this month, Bregman was giddy about beginning a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land this past week, but that never materialized. Houston general manager James Click said the infielder could join the Skeeters on their six-game road trip to Oklahoma City, which begins Thursday, then said "but if not it won't be too far behind that." Bregman has missed 27 games since straining the left quad June 16. Abraham Toro is picking up the majority of starts at third base in his absence.

Yordan Alvarez - Slumping, moved to two holeAlvarez batted second in the order and went 0-for-3 in Sunday's 4-0 loss to the White Sox.
ImpactHouston manager Dusty Baker shook up the lineup, as his team mustered just one run and four hits over 18 weekend innings. Alvarez is Exhibit 1 for the slumping lineup. He's hitless with 12 strikeouts over the last 21 at-bats.
