Spartans honor Boston during spring game

In honor of this week’s tragedies in Boston, decals of the classic "B" were on the back of Michigan State helmets during the annual Green-White spring game at Spartan Stadium.
Three were killed and more than 170 injured in the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings, and MIT campus police officer Sean Collier was killed April 19.
Spartans players and fans joined in observing a moment of silence to remember the victims in Boston, as well as in West, Texas, where at least 14 died recently in a fertilizer plant explosion.
“We felt strongly about remembering the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, along with the MIT police officer, in an appropriate manner,” MSU coach Mark Dantonio said. “This week’s tragic events in both Boston and West, Texas, remind us all just how precious and fragile life is.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those impacted by these tragedies. We also want to thank all of the first responders in both Boston and West, Texas.”
