Boston College proudly does something it hasn't done in almost two years

Congratulations to Boston College, which did something on Saturday it hadn't done in almost two, full, calendar years: The Eagles won an ACC game! The victory came in a stunning, 21-14 upset over NC State in Raleigh.

In doing so, the Eagles snapped a 12-game losing streak that dates to the end of the 2014 season. The last time Boston College beat an ACC team was on Nov. 29, 2014, when it defeated Syracuse, 28-7, at home. The Eagles went 0-8 in ACC play last year, before starting 0-4 in 2016.

So just how long ago was that last conference win for Steve Addazio's club? Well, here are a few things that happened around that time: Marcus Mariota was in the midst of a run toward the Heisman Trophy. Chris Petersen was a couple games into his career at Washington. Jim Harbaugh was still head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. Johnny Manziel was a rookie with the Browns. Oh, and the Eagles had lost a week before to Florida State, with some QB named Jameis Winston.

What a difference two years makes, huh?
