Peterson, Gosselin lead Western Carolina over Wofford, 68-62 (Jan 28, 2017)

CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) Devin Peterson scored 16 points and Marc Gosselin added 15 to lead Western Carolina to a 68-62 victory over Wofford on Saturday night.

Peterson was 7 of 16 from the floor. Gosselin was 4-of-10 shooting, made two 3-pointers and grabbed nine rebounds. Haboubacar Mutombo added 11 points for Western Carolina (7-15, 2-7 Southern), which has won two of four since snapping a five-game losing skid.

Fletcher Magee scored 21 points and made four 3s to lead Wofford (9-13, 4-6). Eric Garcia had 12 points.

Jaylen Allen made a 3-pointer and Wofford had its last lead, 43-40, with 12 minutes left. The Catamounts used a 7-0 spurt capped by Gosselin's 3 to take a 47-43 lead they never relinquished.

Magee converted a 4-point play to pull Wofford to 63-60 with 39 seconds to play. Western Carolina made 5 of 6 from the line to seal it.
