The Sidelines: Steve Wojciechowski discusses life at Marquette and coaching LeBron as a Team USA assistant

It’s college basketball’s offseason – but the season never stops on “The Sidelines Podcast.” This week, FS1 college basketball insider Evan Daniels welcomes Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski to the show.

The two discuss a variety of topics, including:

  • Wojciechowski’s unique path as a player. How did his upbringing as the son of a longshoreman help forge his identity as a player? And also, how did he go from being recruited by mostly Ivy League schools, to having offers from Duke and North Carolina virtually overnight?
  • What was it like coaching with Mike Krzyzewski not only at Duke, but also, serving as an assistant with him on Team USA. Wojo takes us behind the scenes to tell us what it is really like to coach guys like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Also, he gives one incredible story that proves that LeBron is a “basketball savant.”
  • Life at Marquette – What did he take from Coach K? How have noted alums Dwyane Wade and Doc Rivers helped? And what’s next for a program coming off an NCAA tournament berth in 2017?

Plus, Evan breaks down Tuesday night’s NBA Draft lottery. Who would he take No. 1 overall? And who is the better fit for the Lakers, De’Aaron Fox or Lonzo Ball? (Make sure to check out Evan’s  “Big Board” of Top 20 players this year’s draft.)

This is just the latest edition of “The Sidelines Podcast,” so make sure to check out past episodes, which include guests like Mike Krzyzewski and Tom Izzo, as well as NBA Draft prospects Jayson Tatum and Markelle Fultz.
